The #PrimarkAW16 Press Day took place in Dublin yesterday and this year was my first time being invited.
I was so excited to go, get an exclusive preview and meet all the lovely people behind the brand! Everyone was so nice, the catering was amazing and their HQ offices are so cool!
Here are some photos of the day along with some of my favourite items that will be hitting the stores soon, some are even in already. Be prepared to want everything and start wishing the summer away!
This space is usually an office but got converted into a fab showroom for the next while – I was so impressed!
I loved all the creative woodwork around the place which reflected the graphics for the launch. They even had a screen print machine where you could do up your own print of the logo!
My OOTD was a bodysuit, skirt and shoes from Primark
There are four key trends in the A/W collection, Winter Garden, Artisan, Studio 54 and Downtown.
Winter Garden is all about that romantic chic vibe, featuring beautiful rich rose patterned florals.
Artisan has a folk boho vibe, with embroidered denim, khaki and navy military coats, floor length maxis, tapestry and bold clashing prints.
This was definitely my favourite rail, I would happily have taken everything home with me.
In my personal style, always go between feeling quite dainty or quite sporty, like my outfit that day. I realized recently that it’s ok not to have a fixed look and that mixing it up is a good thing! It doesn’t mean you haven’t figured out your style yet, it just means that you are a versatile person who changes and grows every day. It’s nice to reflect that with your fashion choices!
For that more sporty, laid back vibe, the Downtown trend comes in. Even though to me the 90’s seem like they were only, ahem, 10 years ago they have now become a major fashion throwback inspiration and in a very cool way. Think varsity jackets, slogan jerseys, classic trainers, backpacks, fun pins and badges and chokers of course. Lots of red, white and navy with accents of blush pink can be seen in this fab sports luxe trend.
Last but not least are the party pieces, in the disco inspired Studio 54 trend. This is a little preview of what you can expect in the stores for the festive season. Lots of shiny gold or silver fabrics, sequins and faux fur combined with delicate lace and airy chiffons. There were some lovely velvet and metallic pieces to be seen, I always gravitate towards them come fall!
The homewear area was the first thing I saw when I walked in and I was swooning immediately. I particularly loved the marble and rose gold detailing in their Scandi Cool range.
Most of you know just how much of a stationery nerd I am, I carry a general to do list pad, a date planner, blogging book AND a journal with me most of the time. I think I already saw this little notebook in stores, so cute!
There were a lot of stylish yet functional pieces I could definitely see Kenny wearing! The first things that caught my attention were this authentic Irish tweed suit jacket and this structured glen check coat.
There were lots of very neat things in the kids section too! I couldn’t get over this little poncho.
The catering on the day was provided by Gather & Gather and the food tasted every bit as good as it looked. The banana smoothies in cocktail glasses and the mini virgin Irish coffees were my fav! A perfect way to start the morning.
Before I left, one of the girls took me for little look around the building, which is so well designed! It was so cool to have a look behind the scenes. I then popped over to the Penneys store which is right next door to the offices and purchased a few bits & pieces with the voucher I got. I also checked out their new PS Pro cosmetics range.
I am headed to the Aran Islands with Charter Ireland tomorrow and so I got a couple of cool items to wear for the weekend. I will be sharing my trip on my instagram, twitter, facebook and Snapchat so you can check out what I get up to and see the stuff I bought then!
I hope you enjoyed coming on this mini tour with me! Does this have you excited yet? Which items were your favourite? Let me know in the comments below!
